Experience:
At least one year of paid or volunteer experience providing related health care services.
A minimum of two years of experience working with children, adolescents, and/or young adults with special developmental needs and/or severe and multiple disabilities is preferred.
One year (minimum) of experience assisting students with braces and other orthopedic devices is preferred. Must possess current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid certificates from approved training programs.About the Employer

Under the general supervision of a certificated administrator and the technical supervision of a Registered District Nurse, to perform medical treatments and procedures necessary in providing specialized physical health care services to pupils with exceptional needs.
To act as an Instructional Assistant to a Teacher in performing assigned tasks; and to perform related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This position is distinguished from an Instructional Assistant/Academic Awareness by the need to provide direct medical assistance to students with exceptional.
