Assistant Controller

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Assistant Controller for a hybrid opportunity with a client based out of Richmond, VA.

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing a team and leading monthly accounting functions. Responsibilities include managing/performing month-end close, overseeing/reviewing staff work, automating and streamlining processes and assisting with financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

Oversee month-end close and monthly reporting process.
Review reconciliations for fixed assets, inventory and balance sheet accounts.
Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Oversee and prepare month-end journal entries and adjusting journal entries.
Conduct monthly analytics, providing insights on variances, trends and opportunities.
Assist with preparation of year-end tax filings and workpapers.
Ensure proper controls established and processes are documented.
Automate and streamline processes and implement improvements when possible.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
CPA or MBA strong preferred
Minimum 7+ years of accounting experience
Strong Excel and systems skills

Skills:

Excellent time management with great attention to detail
Strong technical accounting knowledge

Salary & Benefits: $110-135k + 15% Bonus.
