    Job Description:

    EECS Human Resource Coordinator

    This position serves as primary contact for all Human Resource coordination and function for the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Candidate constitutes as Workday HR subject matter expert (SME) for the School of EECS and executes all personnel documents. Qualified applicant will serve as backup for Graduate and Undergraduate coordinators for both divisions. Applicant will also be responsible for processing all one-time payments and summer research salary payments for all EECS faculty.

    50% - Human Resources: Serves as EECS primary HR Workday Originator responsible for coordinating all school personnel matters. Processes and maintains primary oversight of human resource related actions in Workday. Assist both division chairs in matters including but not limited to advertising, job descriptions, requisitions, appointments, re-appointments, creating positions, additional compensation, promotion/tenure, research staff, contingent researchers, visiting scholars, post docs and terminations.

    35% - Personnel and Payroll: Prepares all personnel documents for the school including but not limited to international employees and visitors obtaining proper visas/work authorizations, processing of all J-1 visas and H-1B visas for the school. Obtaining approval and gathering of job descriptions, offer letters and contracts for new hires to ensure compliance per LSU policies and federal and state regulations. Responsible for reviewing and completing I-9s for EECS faculty hires and checks for accuracy regarding payroll and budgeted salary between associated organizations. Responsible for Workday one-time payments for the EECS faculty as needed. Responsible for gathering, coordinating and calculating all summer research salary payments for all EECS faculty collaborating and working closely with CoE human resources department to ensure faculty payments are entered and issued before college deadline.

    10% - Office/Workday Support: Serve as backup for Graduate and Undergraduate coordinators for both divisions including but not limited to assisting coordinators as needed with Graduate Assistant hiring, job appointments, continuations and compensation in Workday. Assist divisional coordinators and EECS school faculty advisors as needed with departmental "Student Focused Event Planning", including but not limited to collaborating with coordinators and advisors discovering and conducting student focuses initiative programs such as: workshops, learning outcomes, specialized technologies, student job searches, community outreach, preparation of certificates, meetings, conferences, seminars, and other divisional student related functions or events.

    5% - Other duties as assigned
