    Marcum LLP is actively looking for an

    Assurance Senior Manager

    to join our growing and well-established national firm in our


    CT
    offices. The position requires high-energy, experienced audit professional with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.


    Assurance Senior Managers will be responsible for managing assurance engagements, with minimum oversight by Partner, be an active role model and leader for staff to emulate and meet billable hour and annual CPE requirements.

    Travel

    Travel on a daily basis to client office locations, primarily within the New England region.

    Responsibilities


    Coordinate various phases of engagements, budget time and expenses, monitor actual performance against budget, review work papers for accuracy and completeness, and review financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures, and ensure work is on schedule.

    Generate budgets

    Review and evaluate work papers and determine compliance with professional standards and firm policy.

    Review reports and financial statements.

    Review with the engagement partner significant findings that raise questions involving auditing standards and firm policy.

    Manage risk and ensure quality control procedures are being executed.

    Be involved in practice development and supervision of multiple engagements.

    Assume responsibility for billing and collections when circumstances permit.

    Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client management.

    Provide on the job training to subordinates

    Generate new business annually for new and existing clients.

    Represent the firm by presenting on areas of expertise at third party events.

    Effectively manage employee and client expectations

    Complete performance evaluations constructively and timely, and also provide ongoing performance feedback to employees.

    Maintain required annual CPE's and licensing requirements.

    Qualifications

    BBA/BS/MS in Accounting

    Must be a licensed CPA

    7-11 years of relevant public accounting experience.

    Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)/Tax Law knowledge

    Ability to articulately communicate

    professional/technical

    knowledge

    Effective business advisory skills

    Decisively identify and execute solutions to problems.

    Thorough understanding of complex technical issues

    Ability to meet deadline with accuracy.

    Strong communication, research, analytical and writing skills.

    Proven technical skills with Excel, Word and Outlook

    Experience with accounting software. Prosystem FX engagement preferred.

    Solid organization skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task

    Active listening skills.

    Strong time management, analytical and research skills

    Must have personal vehicle, with flexibility to travel.

    Required to work in the office and/or client locations at least 3 days per week.
