    Business Intelligence Manager III, WW Prime - Seattle, United States - Amazon

    Prime's BI, Data and Analytics vision is to enable WW Prime Businesses (25+) to understand members deeply, empower businesses to rapidly experiment on innovative Prime member CX and enable them to personalize products based on data and insights, and accelerate WW Prime's growth profitably.


    To ensure Prime business leverage the right data for strategic decisions we focus on building cutting edge data and analytics solutions by being n-steps ahead of the business.

    This involves designing and building modern scalable BI systems for analytics, automatic insights, self-service Hands-off-the-wheel data tools for analytics.

    In this role, you will own setting the BI, Data and Analytics vision, strategy, roadmap, multi-year plans, execution and delivery.

    You will need to understand the business and customer needs, build solutions working backwards of them with long-term focus.


    The BI landscape is fast evolving with various data regulations, Prime's new business models being innovated and inventive disruptions coming to the fore.

    You will need to work with business and tech stakeholders across the globe, and shape the direction of Prime BI's future.

    Having an entrepreneurial and a learning mindset to enable your teams to experiment, fail-fast, and invent new solutions are key for success in this role.


    As you build towards the future, it is critical to raise the bar on BI systems, and processes to be efficient and scale for the needs of your customers and business.

    This will involve setting a technical vision for your teams, scaling BI Data Architecture, reducing tech-debt systematically, continuously raising the bar on operational excellence and delivery.

    Invent and simplify the various core data, analytics, BI services and products. Reduce operational burden, build and scale customer delighting features.

    Drive scale:
    Build repeatable and efficient processes/mechanisms which scale well in technology, prioritization, operational excellence

    A day in the life of a Prime BI Manager

    Review BI Projects as per the roadmap documents, prioritization and track progress.

    Align, teach, coach BI mental models and strategy to solve customer problems. Focus on creating more insights than "transactionally" delivering BI projects.

    Help make one-way door decision and empower team to make two-way door decision.

    Influence stakeholders on direction of building the right BI product and metrics for their business.

    Dive deep on key bottlenecks, audit and help teams problem solve for them

    Inspect metrics and anecdotes

    Coach directs, skip team members, and mentees helping them in their career growth


    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, economics, math, finance, or similar fields.
    • 10+ years of technical management in Data, Analytics and Business Intelligence.
    • 5+ years of experience in building and operating large-scale technology systems.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to influence at all levels in a global matrix-orgs.
    • Experience working internationally, and building global solutions.
    • A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
    • Experience managing cross functional teams in a fast-paced company
    • Strong written and verbal communication

    Basic Qualifications

    7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience

    5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience

    Experience with SQL

    Experience with ETL

    Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

    Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software

    Preferred Qualifications

    4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience

    10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

    The base pay for this position ranges from $114,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,100/year in our highest geographic market.

    Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
