- Schedule Development: Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory levels.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate with production teams to allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets.
- Capacity Planning: Assess production capacity and identify potential constraints or bottlenecks. Develop strategies to optimize capacity utilization and mitigate risks.
- Demand Forecasting: Analyze historical data, market trends, and customer forecasts to predict future demand accurately. Adjust production schedules accordingly to ensure timely delivery and minimize excess inventory.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and work-in-progress to ensure adequate stockavailability while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity throughout the production cycle.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production schedules, inventory levels, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports and presentations for management review.
- Risk Management: Anticipate and proactively address potential risks to production schedules, such as supply chain disruptions, equipment breakdowns, or staffing shortage.
- 5+ years' experience in production planning.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong MS Excel skills and experience using scheduling software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Project, JDE E1 Preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated experience as a self-starter.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Related industry experience in instrumentation or controls manufacturing.
- Background with 5S and Lean Manufacturing.
