The Security / Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and secure environment, and for resolving threatening situations at the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Security:
- Patrolling and monitoring activities on the company's premises regularly to ensure the environment is safe and secure.
- Greet and speak to all employees, patients, and visitors in a pleasant, businesslike manner.
- Monitor the arrival and departure of employees, patients, vendors, visitors and vehicles according to protocols and offers assistance and direction.
- Provides assistance to vendor and utility company representatives.
- Issue verbal "reminders" to employees who are not wearing their ID badges.
- Diffuses hostile situations and stops fights and arguments.
- Conduct and log hourly tours of the building and grounds.
- Sign in visitors and issue visitor badges.
- Notify the Facility Manager and/or the COO of any emergency or dangerous situations.
- Enforce Parking Violation policy with staff and patient vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles operate properly in the parking lot and driveway, and that only vehicles picking up or dropping off patients stop in the "driveway bump out".
- Investigate suspicious persons in the parking lot and notify Facility Manager and/or COO when trespassers are observed.
- Respond to all "Code" situations.
- Escort employees to their cars at night when requested. (Winter Hours only)
Maintenance:
- Obtains work assignments from supervisor and contacts the individual requesting repairs for details on the repairs that are needed.
- Performs minor repairs throughout the facility, inclusive of building fixtures, plumbing, electrical fixtures (bulbs upkeep), and painting touchups. Handles furniture, equipment or supplies moves as needed.
- Assists as needed with snow removal and sanding.
- Maintains an inventory of repair supplies and materials and prepares requisition slips for supervisor's approval as replacement needs dictate.
- Undertake special assignments as directed by the Facility Manager, and/or COO.
- Provide detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that occurred to management.
- Report to duty in a clean uniform.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations:
None required, SORA preferred.
Previous Work Experience:
Minimum of two years security or military experience required.
Specific Skills or Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Security techniques, including crowd control and conflict resolution.
- Ability to interact with the employees, patients, vendors, and visitors.
- Excellent customer service and communications skills.
- Strong understanding of the English language. Bi-Lingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to multitask.
