As a Full Scope Medical Assistant, you need to know how to:
vital signs, height, weight, allergies, current medications, medical history, and chief complaint, etc.
Demonstrate knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
Per Provider request, may perform routine tests including but not limited to EKGs, hearing, and vision screens.
Communicate test results to patients and establish plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the Provider.
Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment; stock patient exam rooms while maintaining cleanliness and organization, and dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.
Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.Perform all required processor and equipment maintenance and quality control processes.
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and protect patients, self and other staff from radiation hazards.
Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
Position patients and take X-ray of specific parts of the patient's body as requested by the physician.Process film and check X-ray for clarity of image; Distribute X-ray to appropriate medical staff.
High School Diploma or equivalent- Current/valid registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).
Minimum of 3 months of previous experience within a healthcare setting.
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- Wheat Ridge ClinicThe hourly range for this position is listed below.
