Description
We are looking for a full time Public Health Nurse or WIC Nutrition Program Specialist to join our team and help us provide nutritional education and counseling services to women, infants, and children participating in the WIC program.
The position will assess the nutritional needs of clients, develop individualized nutrition plans and conduct group education sessions.The Public Health Nurse will have an active Registered Professional Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
The WIC Nutrition Program Specialist will have a bachelor's degree in nutrition or home economics with a focus on nutrition.
The LaSalle County Health Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of the residents of LaSalle County by providing essential public health services and working to protect and improve the overall health of the community.
The LaSalle County Health Department provides a variety of programs and services to residents, such as immunizations, maternal and child health services, communicable disease surveillance and control, health promotion through blood pressure monitoring and IL Breast and Cervical Cancer programs.
We also offer community outreach and education programs to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent chronic diseases.In addition, the department is actively involved in emergency preparedness and response efforts, working closely with other local, state, and federal agencies to safeguard the community during public health emergencies and natural disasters.
Starting wage Public Health Nurse with RN license: $23.65/hour.Starting wage WIC
Nutrition Program Specialist:
$21.30/hour.
Employee benefit package includes 40 hours work week (Monday through Friday 8-4:30), 12 paid holidays, IMRF retirement, paid sick leave, paid vacation leave after one year, health insurance with optional dental and vision coverage, $0.50/hour wage increase after completion of probationary period, $0.50/hour annual increase, and continuing education opportunities.
