Working Conditions

Hours of Operation:CTFB's core business hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Some events and duties may require your presence outside of these hours/days.

Environment:Standing or sitting for long periods of time in an indoor setting.

Travel:CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas and often requires same-day travel between counties, using a personal vehicle, CTFB passenger fleet and possibly occasional out of town travel for meetings, special events or meeting for some positions.

OSHA Standards:


  • Lifting requirements are 50 pounds and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.

Position Overview

Relationships

Reporting to the Content Manager, this role is highly integrated within the Food Bank and calls for extensive interaction with and service to the greater organization, liaising with, and supporting all departments.

This position also works with all external stakeholders and audiences such as clients, news media, donors, the public and volunteers which help inform the creative development and execution of digital communications.

The Storyteller + Content Creator must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment in his or her work and work effectively across organizational lines.

This role does not supervise other team members.


Your Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in communications or marketing from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Major course work in business, nonprofit or a related field preferred.
  • One to three years of wageearning experience in the marketing communications field (or equivalent responsibilities).
  • Experience in nonprofit setting strongly preferred.
  • Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills, including a command of Associated Press style.
  • Highly proficient Spanish
    required .
  • Demonstrated skills in video production, web editing and in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop.
  • Experience working and communicating collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and audiences such as staff, news media, donors, general public, volunteers, and board of directors, foundations, corporations and public officials.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, set priorities and work under aggressive timelines.
  • Knowledge of and experience using a style guide as critical tool for managing brand identity.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with social media marketing on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Demonstrated proficiency running paid ad campaigns.
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy, good judgment and discretion. Ability to represent the Food Bank in a professional manner in a variety of settings.

Your Responsibilities

  • Gather stories about the Food Bank, all its stakeholders including clients, partner agencies, team members, elected officials, volunteers and donors, that demonstrate the impact of the Food Bank's vision, mission, and values.
  • Create and develop the editorial content for the Food Bank's marketing and communications collaterals
