Summary


The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading the BD/Marketing team, identifying leads, proactively prospecting, and closing deals to sell ground up and tenant finish out construction projects.

This role builds, maintains, and grows long-term relationships with clients to expand the revenue base and meet and exceed targeted annual quotas for sales and lead generation.

The Business Development Manager meets regularly with prospective and existing clients in the market area to deliver sales presentations, follow up with key decision makers, and sell the company's services.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the Business Development and Marketing team to ensure Company sales metrics are met.
  • Identify viable leads, manage prospects, and secure new projects to meet established targeted revenue and profit goals.
  • Develop robust information profiles on prospective customers to facilitate the acquisition of new business.
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of competitive trends in the designated market to anticipate changing customer needs, and proactively manage the customer base.
  • Proactively communicate with, or respond to, customers in coordination with the Company's pricing initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to grow existing client base, and follow up with key decision makers.
  • Establish longterm relationships within the designated market.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company's available services and pricing structures and sell into existing and prospective clients, as appropriate, to grow targeted revenue and contribute to Company goals and objectives.
  • Meet regularly with senior management, as appropriate, to review weekly sales activities and prospective customer calling activities.
  • Track all prospective customer information on required reporting format.
  • Build relationships and increase Company visibility through participation in Companysponsored activities, and act as a company representative at trade shows, chamber of commerce events and other community events, where required.
  • Complete all required Customer Service Agreements, CRM entries and other reports in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to all customer and prospective client's inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Successful direct selling experience in the construction industry, in a customerfacing role, identifying and addressing customer needs.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas over several years.
  • Professional presentation, and a high level of selfconfidence and selfmotivation.
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, and ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  • Strong active listening skills giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions when appropriate, and letting others fully state their ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify the information needed to clarify a situation, seeking information from appropriate sources, and tackling problems using a logical, sequential approach that anticipates the implications of actions.
  • Good written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Friendly and engaging personality with excellent persuasion skills.
  • A service orientation, actively looking for ways to help people.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering and 4 or more years of experience playing a key role in leading a Sales and Development team are required.
