General Manager Job Description

The General Manager (GM) will work closely with leadership to coordinate and facilitate day-to-day operations; overseeing business progress.

The GM will lead the success of the storefront by implementing SOPs, supervising staff, tracking and measuring KPIs, ensuring customer satisfaction, and staying informed about all Local and State regulations.

The GM will be in charge of ensuring TBG Cambridge maintains compliance on all fronts and will be the face of the store when it comes to interacting with law enforcement, landlords, vendors, and employees.


Responsibilities:

Sales and Customer Experience

  • Monitors and analyzes the customer service provided by team members. Offers feedback and coaching.
  • Greets customers and helps with products and services.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and service traits.
  • Resolves customer complaints and helps respond to customers' special needs.
  • Ensure safety and satisfaction of all customers and employees.
  • Maintain indepth knowledge of all strains and products in store inventory as well as industry wide product and trend knowledge
People and Performance Management

  • Manages team member performance by assigning responsibilities, setting goals and expectations, observing performance, providing feedback and giving recognition. Provides feedback to help with employee career progression.
  • Create and manage staff schedule.
  • Manage dispensary staff, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, conducting performance evaluations, training, and education
  • Ensures training of team members; provides coaching and mentoring.
  • Issues constructive discipline and makes discipline recommendations.
  • Promotes teamwork and motivates team members by establishing expectations, tracking results, showing enthusiasm and sharing the vision.
  • Ensures compliance with all corporate policies, applicable employment laws, and is consistently fair in the treatment of all team members.
  • Develops and delivers performance management for direct supervises.
  • Participates in the company and onthejob training to improve skills and productivity and attends training.
  • Follows performance improvement plans offered by dispensary manager and director of dispensary operations.
  • Ensure ongoing staff education on all recreational cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods.
  • Seeks selfdevelopment by monitoring own performance, setting high personal standards, learning about the fields of retail and management, seeking best practices.
Operational Management

  • Supervises operation of the store and team members, opening/closing/changing shifts, task delegation and scheduling team members
  • Supervises the control of the store money including register counts, withdraws from the bank, armored car pickups, safe deposits, change orders and oversees all aspects of bookkeeping including ledger, invoices, cash reports and time records.
  • Supervises the return process of merchandise.
  • Ensures that store/grounds are clean and presentable; manages repair and maintenance; responds to emergencies.
  • Supervises operations of assigned location including strict compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of all computer and technology systems and software (e.g. registers, LeafLogix, etc.). Ensures response to all systems problems by contacting information technology support and seeking solutions.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned, including assisting team members as needed.
  • Willing to travel to other locations for training and/or coverage.
Financial Management

  • Ownership of Profit and Loss with the financial performance of store
  • Assist in development of budgets and sales forecasts.
  • Interpretates analytical data to better understand store performance trends and changes.
  • Reviews and ensures effective asset protection to reduce loss, focusing specifically on front of house operations.
  • Initiate marketing initiatives and campaigns to boost dispensary sales.
Compliance

  • Ensures regulatory compliance in accordance with the Cannabis Control Commission.
  • Ensures inventory remains compliant with labels, expiration dates, and storage methods.
  • Works with inhouse counsel to investigate and report infractions so that the general counsel can report infractions as needed.
