Minimum Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in urban/regional planning, geography, or a related field.
- Relative internship or work experience preferred.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for producing transportation planning work tasks typical of a metropolitan planning organization (MPO), conducting the federally-required transportation planning process, providing transportation planning products to the MPO member organizations, and coordinating with Federal, State, local agencies and the public.
- Initial focus _will be on transportation planning and its linkages to land use, demographic and socioeconomic trends, the environment; at all times connecting the above planning elements to economic development.
- Writes and presents formal and technical reports, related to transportation and/or land use planning.
- Communicate and coordinate with State, Federal, and local agencies in developing multimodal transportation plans and funding proposals.
- Analyze socioeconomic data, census data and other planning centric data; support and provide guidance to the transportation planning tasks of the local agencies.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of data for transportation performancebased planning.
- Coordinate public meetings and workshops; facilitate as necessary.
- Participate on crosscollaborative teams in conceptual and transportation planning and for corridor and redevelopment studies.
- Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience utilizing ArcGIS for data collection and analysis
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

From $43,000.00 per year
