Job Summary and Qualifications:


As a Chaplain, you will work with all hospital departments and personnel to provide spiritual guidance and emotional support during illness, injury and/or emergency to patients, family members, visitors, hospital staff, and physicians.

As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will advocate for a patient
- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions, and will demonstrate caring and empathy in all interactions.

  • You will provide visitations and spiritual support to patients, family members, and employees
  • You will aim to reduce anxiety and fear, mediate conflict, and offer prayer when appropriate
  • You will serve as a liaison to community churches and clergy members on behalf of the hospital, including the coordination of patient visits
  • You will document services and significant interactions in the patient record
  • You will function as a contact to the Ethics Committee
  • You will provide assistance with crisis intervention measures where appropriate
  • You will provide guidance with advanced directives and ethical issues of patients and families
  • You will formulate programs and policies to meet the spiritual needs of the organization
Job Requirements

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting as a Chaplain preferred
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in area of expertise from an accredited institution
  • 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE)
  • Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) completed in a hospital setting preferred
  • Masters of Divinity preferred
