SUMMARY:
Leads multi-disciplinary design, coordination, test, and documentation activities on large CT-based system projects.
DUTIES:
Plans, conducts and supervises engineering research, development and/or manufacturing activities on projects with large scope and high commercial importance. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Leads design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and implements correct actions.
Works on multiple projects with multiple disciplines with limited context provided. Researches and defines major changes in engineering processes, procedures and technology. Develops project plans and completes assigned efforts on specification, schedule and budget. Operates independently with a wide degree of latitude given
general direction.
Directs activities of engineering team to accomplish assigned projects. Regularly inspires subordinates and mentors and develops people.
Recognized as a technical expert with a broad and deep technical range. Applies inventive, original, and creative approaches to assigned tasks. Work effort is usually patentable. Recognized as a resource outside the company and influences customer decision making.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in technical field or equivalent plus 12 or more years of related experience. Requires an expert knowledge of system engineering principles and the capability of leading mechanical, electrical, software, test and physics disciplines on projects of large scope and high commercial importance.
