Position:
Quality Assurance Technician**
Department:Controlled Machining**
Report to:Engineering Manager**



SUMMARY:
Manage, maintain, and operate the CMM equipment, and gage control system.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Performs inprocess or final process inspections using appropriate measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gages, comparator and CMM.
  • Provide 1st piece reports for new projects.
  • Follow customerbased layout reporting systems.
  • Maintain and update software as required for part layout.
  • Working knowledge of blueprints, sketches, drawings, machining processes and tolerances.
  • Must be able to assist manufacturing and engineering personnel regarding part conformance and process capability.
  • Maintains and updates the gage control system. (Gage Trak)
  • Responsible for gage audits, calibrations, and certifications.
  • Support prototype runs for both the foundry and machining departments.
  • Provide support for quality rejects for the machining department.
  • Provide ongoing inspections of machined castings on the production floor as required.
  • Maintain Preventative Maintenance program on CMM and all other inhouse gages precertification requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Understands, implements, and maintains the Company's quality policy through performance of all duties and responsibilities to insure accuracy.
  • Support in training operators in the correct way of gaging parts.
  • Assisting in making sure that machined parts meet specifications on the blueprint.
  • Have a positive and professional attitude.
  • Available to work weekends or overtime if required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:


  • Must have a strong machining and quality work history.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, math data, reports, instructions, and guidelines
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read advanced blueprints.
  • Ability to use various measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, etc.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
