- The Sr Cyber Security Engineer will validate security controls on applications and systems and provide security recommendations.
- May instruct other teams on secure coding controls and investigate, create, and recommend innovative technologies or other methods that will enhance the security of various technology environments.
- This position requires strong technical skills in various computer operating systems, and cyber security experience across various platforms and applications.

- The engineer is required to update/maintain documentation requested by management and will be tasked with improving such documentation as required
- This role tests the current state of the information security architecture, system security configurations, performs root cause analysis to determine how to provide optimal IT security for the organization and provides improvement recommendations
- Executes vulnerability analysis and exploitation of applications, operating systems and networks and provide recommendations of security control to help prevent, detect or mitigation security issues
- Identifies intrusion or incident path or method through testing and evaluation procedures and recommends mitigation
- Contributes to the design, development and implementation of countermeasures, systems integration, and tools specific to cyber and information operations
- Resolves complex malware and intrusion issues within the system as they occur
- Monitors industry security updates, technologies, and practices on a continual basis to improve overall security management
- Serves as an internal information security consultant on the standards, complex issues, and best practices for the organization
- Works with Cybersecurity Risk and Security Operation Center (SOC) teams to enhance the overall security posture of the enterprise
- A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology (IT) or equivalent
- 5+ years of Cyber Security Experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- Must have cyber security certification
- Experience penetration testing
- Subject matter Expert (SME) on common and effective cyber security controls for application, network devices, operating systems, and biomedical devices.
- Experienced in cyber policy, intelligence, and analytics.
- Experience working with the cloud environment
- Experience with security controls validation
- Six (6) years' experience in Information technology
- Conduct decision making in the deployment of security controls along with verification of security controls
- Manages and supports various cyber security monitoring and auditing activities
- Provides expert remediation guidance for the Cyber Incident Response Management Team when activated
- Identifies and recommends appropriate cost-effective security controls
- Reviews and recommends and assists in implementing innovative solutions to improve cyber security
- Assists with policy, procedure, and process review, editing, and writing
- Occasional travel to attend security forums, trainings, and/or conferences
- Conduct internal penetration tests

Summary:
The Senior Cyber Security Engineer provides technical expertise and direction in securely developing and supporting business applications to ensure they are deployed with the appropriate security posture. The Senior Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for proactively identifying risks and remedial actions that apply to technologies for business processes. In addition to providing technical expertise, Senior Cyber Security Engineer consistently demonstrates strong leadership, initiative, and communication skills. They have a proven track record of being actively sought out by other team members for their technical advice.
This role is an advanced, hands-on practitioner and representative of the cyber security operations team. The role is both advisory and technical, and candidates must possess a solid understanding of cyber security and have held positions in cyber security and/or systems administration. The role will be responsible for Protection standards, procedures, and secure configuration baselines, and assists on working on building out an insider threat program.
