Arcosa Wind Towers is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in the manufacturing and industrial engineering realms, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement strategies. Your role will entail utilizing effective project management methodologies to enhance employee morale, product quality, efficiency, productivity, and safety standards within the facility. Typically, this position operates during First Shift, with occasional off-shift project responsibilities.

Job Location: Newton, IA

What you'll do:

Utilize CAD software for generating and modifying fabrication drawings
Collaborate cross-functionally and provide CI support across various departments
Offer engineering/CI assistance for improvement projects and process enhancements
Conduct training sessions as necessary, focusing on continuous improvement tools and lean concepts
Apply project management techniques for effective communication and resource allocation
Utilize Microsoft software for project tracking and process evaluation
Develop relationships with shop floor employees and advocate for production opportunities

What you'll need:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial engineering, or a related field
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or Inventor preferred)
Experience with MS Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Projects, and Vizio)
Basic understanding of VBA is a plus
Background in manufacturing and continuous improvement
Experience in providing training and coaching within an organization
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Strong communication skills in various mediums
Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions

Working Conditions:

Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production areas, and plant grounds
Possibility of work beyond regular hours, shifts, and weekends/holidays
Must be able to handle varying temperatures and noise levels
