    About the Job:

    Are you ready to join a dynamic team that is constantly pushing the boundaries of technology? We are looking for a candidate to fill the position at Corning where you will play a vital role in shaping industries and changing the way the world functions. As part of our team, you will utilize your engineering skills to drive innovation and solve complex challenges.

    Scope of Position:

    Utilize engineering standards and practices to tackle technical assignments and projects effectively. Make critical decisions based on sound engineering methods and actively collaborate across departments to resolve process and product issues. Implement new ideas and methods to enhance manufacturing capabilities and achieve department goals.

    Day to Day Tasks:

    • Provide problem-solving guidance for production operations
    • Analyze data to understand process capability and drive manufacturing excellence
    • Identify process improvement and cost reduction projects based on data exploration
    • Prepare justifications for new equipment purchases and oversee their implementation
    • Collaborate with team members to implement process and equipment improvements
    • Develop training documentation, conduct equipment qualification, and ensure production readiness
    • Document project details thoroughly
    • Support the transfer of new technology to production
    • Ensure completion of all production and maintenance documentation

    Travel:

    • Less than 10%

    Hours of Work:

    • 8am - 5pm, flexibility off shifts as required

    Education & Skills:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Materials preferred)
    • 2-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred
    • Strong problem-solving skills and technical fundamentals
    • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and deliver results
    • Quick learner with a dedication to learning new technologies

    Desired Skills:

    • Proficiency in Statistical packages like Minitab
    • Experience with Structured Problem Solving methodologies
    • Knowledge of plastic extrusion, Cabling processes, or UV Curable technologies
    • Six Sigma Green belt certification or equivalent
    • Project Management expertise
    • Programming experience with PLCs

    Soft Skills:

    • Establish a strong network across engineering and technology
    • Effective communication and presentation skills
    • Excellent social skills, planning, and organization
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide/receive coaching
