    The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.

    The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

    Position Summary

    The Division of Pediatric Cardiology seeks a Nurse Practitioner to work in a clinical capacity within the division.

    The primary role of the Nurse Practitioner is to work collaboratively with the consult attending to perform consults throughout the Children's Hospital.

    This position is fulltime, Monday-Friday with daytime hours.

    The ideal candidate will bring a positive and caring attitude, excellent communication skills, clinical expertise, and previous experience in a fast-paced practice or hospital setting.

    Responsibilities

    The candidate will be responsible for the following job duties:


    • Conduct thorough assessments of pediatric patients presenting with cardiac concerns, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic evaluation.
    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, and cardiac catheterizations, to assist in the diagnosis and management of cardiac conditions.
    • Formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with pediatric cardiologists, including medication management, cardiac interventions, and surgical referrals when necessary.
    • Provide ongoing monitoring and follow-up care for pediatric patients with cardiac conditions, including medication management, symptom management, and assessment of treatment effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals, to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment approaches.
    • Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, treatment options, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and preventive measures to promote optimal cardiac health.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, treatments, billing and interactions in EPIC, adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.
    • Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice, including maintaining patient confidentiality, respecting patient autonomy, and upholding professional integrity in all interactions.
    • Works with the Division Administrator to ensure that all administrative duties related to consult service - schedule, reviewing billing, etc. are reviewed monthly to address any gaps and enhance patient care.
    • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.
    Minimum Qualifications


    • Requires Master's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus two years of related experience.
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Recent experience in Pediatric Cardiology preferred.
    • Previous NP experience a plus.
    Other Requirements


    • Current NYS NP License, maintain and renew when necessary. (NP's are required to have a NYS license to qualify for the position).
    • Current NYS RN License.
    • NP Board Certification, DEA License.
    • BCLS and ACLS certification.
    • Able to meet New York-Presbyterian Hospital credentialing requirements.
