MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Training and Development Specialist will work with the Training Manager in all aspects of developing and operating the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) training program for all State of Maryland agencies that use the software system to maintain their facilities.
This includes teaching, curriculum design and development, assessment, and the writing of training publications such as user guides and tutorials.
POSITION DUTIES
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Teaching: Will be responsible for conducting live, "real-time" training sessions, both in-person and virtual (i.e., via the Google Meets app), group and one-on-one. Will also be responsible for developing and leading asynchronous online training using a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Curriculum development: Will work with the Training Manager in determining client needs and developing modules and/or courses designed to equip clients with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet these needs.
- Writing: Will be responsible for composing training publications such as manuals, user guides and tutorials as supplements to the training sessions, which will include creating PowerPoint (or Google Slides) slide presentations to be used in conjunction with training sessions.
- Administrative duties: Will be responsible for creating and maintaining attendance records, transcripts, grading quizzes and exams, recording results, and creating and issuing certificates of completion.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
Two years of administrative staff or professional work.
Note:
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a writer of educational and/or technical documents (e.g., manuals, user guides, tutorials, etc.).
- Experience as an educator and/or trainer.
- Experience developing prerecorded "asynchronous" training modules using a Learning Management system (LMS).
- Experience with distance/virtual training.
- Experience operating and/or teaching computer software systems.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
Pay:
$50, $83,807.00 per year
