- Coordinate Teleservice Visitations and telephone conferences with interested parties and set up appointment times.
- Type memos, e-mails, update logs, manuals, schedule and track video and telephone conferences, maintain Police Services video email box, and calendar.
- Possess a strong knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office Suite), video equipment, and platforms for conferences (Webex, Zoom), or be willing to learn.
- Assist in analyzing contract documents, maintaining cost analysis, and program evaluations.
- Prepare complex analytical and statistical reports.
- Utilize data and research to support Police and Fire Departments with budgets, equipment purchases, and order tracking.
- Receive and track subpoenas from the District Attorney's Office.
- Coordinate officer court appearances.
- Analyze and determine appropriate legal responses to subpoenas, court orders, and requests for the release of information.
- Maintain and update various data in the Report Management System.
- Review documents, recommend redactions of confidential information.

Job Description and Duties
The Staff Services Analyst- Department of Police Services/Fire Teleservices Analyst will report to the Deputy Chief of Police and Fire Chief at the Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero (ASH). The individual will have the following responsibilities:
In order to be considered for this role, you must meet one of the following requirements:
1. BE LIST ELIGIBLE: Successfully complete the competitive State civil service exam related to this role.
2. BE TRANSFER ELIGIBLE: Have current employment with the State of California in a similar classification.
3. BE REINSTATEMENT ELIGIBLE: Have previous permanent employment with the State of California in a comparable classification.
*Minimum qualifications will be verified before interview scheduling. Provide proof of minimum qualifications with your application, including college transcripts and relevant paperwork.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade; AND Four years of experience in analytical, technical, clerical, or customer service roles. Academic education from an accredited college/university may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. Candidates close to meeting the experience requirement will be admitted to the examination but must fully qualify before appointment. If an applicant does not meet the minimum qualifications, their name may be removed from eligibility.

This position may involve working within the Secured Treatment Area (STA).

Special Requirements
Submit a copy of your high school diploma OR transcripts, evidence of passing California High School Proficiency test, possession of a GED, foreign high school diploma (translated/verified), unofficial college transcripts showing completion of at least 12 units with your STD 678 State Application. Higher degrees require evidence of the lower degree. Foreign transcripts need US equivalency verification. Candidates with 12+ college units earned do not need separate proof of High School diploma. If you took the Staff Services Analyst Transfer Exam, include your results letter. Due to SSA classification changes, proof of minimum qualifications is required for all candidates, including Transfer Exam applicants.
Background Investigation Requirement: The Department of Justice mandates a background check for individuals accessing information from the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS). Police Services Investigators conduct background checks on SSA candidates at the Department of Police Services.
