Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ductwork, plenums, air devices, louvers and air moving equipment.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch and drill presses to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
- Use spot welders, handheld power tools, air hammers and hand tools to assemble duct work and other sheet metal assemblies.
- Install duct work and sheet metal assemblies on work site according to blueprints and specifications using hand tools and portable power tools.
- Install air moving equipment, such as air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, and unit heaters.
- Inspect and test installations for conformance with the project requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 57 years of verifiable experience with sheet metal work in the Mechanical/HVAC industry;
- HS Diploma or its equivalent, and/or trade school;
- Must be willing and able to meet all company and customer project entry requirements which may include training, background check, and drug test;
- Thorough knowledge of sheet metal blueprints, specifications, and codes;
- Understand basic math;
- Work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines;
- Visualize threedimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints;
- Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy;
- Perform a variety of duties which may change often; and rate information using measurable standards.
Expectations:
- Ability to work with others and serve as a team player, while being able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Good communication skills (speaking and actively listening) with coworkers and supervisors.
- Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work.
- High attention to detail to avoid reworks and errors.
- Recognize safety hazards and risks, participate in onsite safety meetings, and actively participate in a strong safety culture.
