- Job Summary:The Neurodiagnostic Technician Registered is a formally-trained technician who operates electroencephalography equipment to measure and record electrical activity of brain, producing study reports that assist in diagnosis of epileptic/seizure disorders.
- Learning to recognize EEG patterns specific to children of various developmental stages that require notification of the neurologist in real time or notation as to timing during the exam.
- Department Position Summary:Responsibilities and Duties - based on designated/classified level of the technician- Monitoring/watching ongoing long term EEG including in the epilepsy monitoring unit and in the ICU or other general medical setting for clinical and subclinical seizures and than notifying a higher level technologist and/or physician per standard operating protocol of seizures.
- The EEG Technologist is responsible for performing Neurodiagnostic procedures ordered by a physician.
- The EEG Technologist must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other department staff members.
- The EEG Technologist must maintain departmental and patient-specific documentation in an organized manner.
- The EEG Technologist must be able to work independently and interdependently as necessary
- The EEG Technologist will be required to have a basic knowledge of computers.
