Description
Job Summary:
A senior nursing student under the supervision of a Registered Nurse will assist in providing direct and/or indirect care of the patient.
Education:
Required:
Will consider a nursing student (RN or LPN) within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program.

Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education.

The NICU Nurse Tech 1 serves as a unit clerk by answering the telephone, screening and verifying all visitors who enter in the unit while maintaining and completing clerical responsibilities as required.
The Nurse Tech 1 may also perform non-licensed patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, may be floated to work in other areas of Children's and utilized as a sitter.
