THE POSITION
Are you a talented and detail-oriented engineering expert who is dedicated to protecting the health and safety of Pennsylvania's residents and natural surroundings? The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a committed individual to lead as an Environmental Engineer Manager.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position will oversee all operations within the permits section of the clean water program at the northeast regional office.
Your responsibilities will encompass supervising and directing all activities within the permits section, with duties including interviewing and selecting candidates for positions, ensuring proper training for new employees, developing program plans, conducting regular reviews of these plans with superiors, preparing employee performance reviews (EPR), reviewing job standards with employees, handling administrative tasks such as approving timesheets and leave slips, assigning and monitoring tasks, and providing feedback on completed work within the section.

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch
Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre.Salary:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years as an Environmental Engineer or an Air Quality Engineer;
or
Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development, design or construction.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists or a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the applicable licensing body of another state.
Conditions of Employment:
This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Post Employment Requirement:
Successful candidates with an out of state Professional Engineer license will be required to produce a valid Professional Engineer license issued by Pennsylvania within their initial six month probationary period.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently
waived
for this title.
