Women In Transitionis hiring for 1 (one) Weekend House Manager for part-time weekend, day shift (8AM-4PM) 2-3 weekends per month. Availability to provide occasional coverage during weekday evenings and overnights. Women In Transition is a residential social services program in Madison serving adult women with severe and persistent mental illness in a group home (Community Based Residential Facility) & transitional living apartments.


Primary responsibilities include:

supervision of residential programs; monitoring and supervision of medication program; documentation; crisis intervention; following established policies and procedures; promote socialization; assist residents with chores and tasks; additional cleaning and other projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

Administrative duties:
include detailed documentation; managing calls to the agency; work cooperatively with other staff; utilize supervision. Additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Director and cleaning projects as needed.


Experience/Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Human Services and/or experience in the Human Service field. Additional experience working with people with serious and persistent mental illnesses is highly valued. Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) trainings is a plus. Knowledge of mental illnesses and psycho-social rehabilitation principles is preferred. Must possess effective written and verbal communication; be independent, self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. Must be able to walk up and down three story building and lift 20 pounds. Must have valid driver's license and vehicle.

$19.14/hour starting with increase to $20.14/hour after training.

Part-time, minimum 8 hour per week permanent position.


Shift/Work Days:
Every other Saturday & Sunday 8am-4pm; some holiday coverage required. Availability on weekday evenings and overnights a plus.

Women In Transition serves adult women who have a serious & persistent mental illness. Staff provides individually tailored services based on identified need. Staff are available to listen & respond with information on available services, provide support, counseling & overall case management.

The Halfway House is licensed as a Community Based Residential Facility by the State of Wisconsin. Upon admission each woman should essentially be stabilized & must be capable of self-care with guidance & mínimal supervision. Admission is based upon the complimentary needs of each applicant & the program offered by Women In Transition. The length of stay is determined by the degree of progress & potential for improvement.

Women In Transition, Inc., provides residential and social services to adult women of Dane County who are experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.

A continuum of services is offered ranging from a 24 hour staffed group home, an apartment building and a case management service component.

The residential facility is licensed as a Community Based Residential Facility by the State of Wisconsin.

The 24 hour staffed residential facility is called the Halfway House and is a supportive structured living experience that assists women in achieving their greatest capacity for independent living.

The apartment building is called the Corner House and it provides an apartment living experience to assist women in re-entering independent community living.

Whether a woman lives in the Halfway House or Corner each woman moves toward independence at an appropriate pace by using the recovery tools they need to succeed in the community.

The programs provide comprehensive case management services, emotional support and instruction in practical living skills. The family style ambiance present in both buildings is designed to nurture self-esteem and promote a healthy life style.

Women In Transition continues to move forward in promoting cultural competence and diversity along with a focus on consumer centered recovery practices.
