    Summary:
    Our Client is seeking a Senior Machine Design Engineer to join their team in Jackson, MI.

    As a Senior Machine Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated machines and equipment for the baking industry.

    Your day-to-day tasks will include conceptualizing, prototyping, and validating machine designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    This is a full-time on-site role where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative automation technology.


    Responsibilities:
    Design new products and modify existing designs.

    Assist in resolving Manufacturing, Assembly, Outsourcing, Warranty, and Rectification issues.

    Actively research and analyze competitive offerings.

    Provide guidance to manufacturing and assembly.

    Support development of owners manuals for new products.

    Assist in creation and maintenance of quality standards.

    Allocate engineering workloads to meet production milestones.

    Oversee day-to-day decisions and work execution of Mechanical Engineering team.

    Take a proactive approach to new product development and equipment upgrades.

    Resolve Warranty and Rectification issues.

    Implement plans for rectification reduction and Engineering BOM changes.

    Establish best practice standards and lead the Mechanical Engineering Team.

    Advise management on new developments affecting various aspects.

    Provide direction on interpretation and application of company policies and procedures.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

    Strong Mechatronics background.

    Experienced in SolidWorks.

    Packaging Equipment background required.

    OEM equipment manufacturing preferred.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Strong multitasking skills.

    Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.

    Good written and oral communication skills.

    Comfortable in office and shop environments.

    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing a plus.

    Performance coaching and mentoring mindset.
