    This position researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems,

    and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and

    repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties.

    Responsibilities Include:


    • Design/Draw/redraw components and/or Assemblies from hand sketches or AutoCAD drawings

    into SolidWorks. Must be capable of detailing prints.


    • Design new products and modify existing designs.


    • Assist in resolution of Manufacturing, Assembly, Outsourcing, Warranty and Rectification issues.


    • Provides guidance to manufacturing and assembly during initial new product build.


    • Actively research and analyze competitive offerings.


    • Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility,

    required resources, cost effectiveness, and market demand for new products.


    • Supports the development of owner's manuals for all new products.


    • Supports or owns special project initiatives as directed by Director of Engineering.


    • Work with hand tools and/or power tools to assist in assembly, repair, or troubleshooting of

    machinery.


    • Must design components in a cost-conscious manner, and strive to reduce cost on existing

    components and/or assemblies.


    • Listen to assembly/manufacturing requests or concerns, and institute the proper procedure to

    resolve issues.


    • Must be flexible with responsibilities/projects/duties as these may change daily based on work

    loading.


    • Assist in creation and maintenance of quality standards on all new products.


    • Resolves Warranty and Rectification issues as requested by Director of Engineering.


    • Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and

    others are performed in a safe manner ensuring documentation is in place.


    • Provides support and documentation for new products to successfully enter mainstream

    manufacturing.


    • Supports the development of Features, Benefits, Spec.'s, and various Marcom for Sales as it

    relates to new products.


    • Support the Sales Team in conveying new product knowledge to customer with personal visits, conference calls, etc.

    Desired Skills Experience


    • Very Strong Mechatronics Background


    • Experienced Solid Works User


    • Packaging Equipment background a must


    • OEM equipment manufacturing strongly preferred.


    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university


    • Four to ten years related experience.


    • Must be able to work independently and part of a team.


    • Strong multitasking skills a must.


    • Must understand the need for a sense of urgency


    • Good attendance and ability to work overtime.


    • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.


    • Must be comfortable in an office environment shop environment.


    • Must be detail oriented in design/job release to manufacturing.
