The Front-End Associate is responsible for engaging customers in a courteous, helpful, and friendly manner, completing customer transactions on the cash register, is knowledgeable about items in the store and offers and encourages Co-op membership, as well as completes other duties as assigned to support Front-End operations, including stocking, fronting and facing, and order picking within the store to help support our curbside order pick-up service.

Requirements:


Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
• Customer service experience required.
• Experience in retail or grocery (strongly preferred).
• Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain composure in adverse situations.
• Experience using touch screen register preferred.
• Knowledge of natural foods a plus.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others while being able to work independently without constant supervision and direction.
• Ability to readily adapt based on evolving Coop needs or in response to feedback.
• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Readily adaptable to evolving coop needs or in response to feedback.
• Majority of time is spent on sales floor, which requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing (8 hours), repetitive bending, lifting, twisting and reaching.)
• Pulling/pushing carts.
• Ability to lift 10lbs.
