Section 1:
Position Summary
The data specialist is primarily responsible for collecting data from newly acquired companies or books of business and supplying it accurately in required formats to various Ascensus departments for use.
The role requires project coordination and interaction with finance, marketing, IT and business along with key contacts at newly acquired companies or partners.
Section 2:
Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to and/or meet with acquired companies to review their systems and data management methodologies while also explaining our data requirements in order to develop strategies for data collection
- Consolidating, organizing, translating and formatting large volumes of data collected from various sources including system extracts, databases, excel files, surveys and/or hardcopy
- Create data summary dashboards and tracking databases
- Support or create ways of working that enable the most effective, efficient and expeditious execution and resulting impact
- Build and maintain communication channels and methods to provide updates on progress to both internal and external stakeholders timely and succinctly
- Identify new process improvement opportunities while developing repeatable processes for efficiently collecting and standardizing data needed for integrations
- Work with integration project team leads to prioritize business and information needs
- Manage multiple data integration projects simultaneously and maintain project status reporting for Integration Management Leadership.
- Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3:
Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in the retirement industry or financial services a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Excel required (e.g. creating formulas/macros) along with proficiency in PowerPoint; Power BI Desktop a plus
- Strong project management skills with ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work with contacts of varying levels of system knowledge; demonstrating patience and strong communication skills
- Ability to build and manage relationships during a time of uncertainty
- Ability to analyze data integrity with a commitment to data quality and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
- Ability to work independently without significant direct supervision
