ACE is currently seeking a Project Controls Specialist/Administrator to join our Project Management Office.

This position can be stationed in Newark DE, Quakertown PA, or Windsor Mill MD, with the ability to travel to other locations as needed.


The Project Controls Specialist will provide support to the project management and engineering staffs in the day-to-day execution, control and monitoring of ACE's projects.

They may also be called upon to perform direct, project administrative activities for several small projects.


Project Controls Specialist / Administrator


The Project Controls Specialist will work under the direction of the Director of Project Management or a PMO Team Lead and will be considered a direct report.

The Project Controls Specialist will help ensure the project management and engineering staff have adequate support to complete their roles effectively and efficiently.


Specific tasks will include generating and maintaining project schedules with input from the PM's and project lead engineers, assisting in the maintenance of resource planning and resource communications tools, coordinating internal kick-off meetings, scheduling customer kick-off meetings, gathering project data, including expended hours, estimates to complete, and populating this data into project reporting tools.

Additionally, the Project Controls Specialist will communicate key project dates to project managers and engineering staff, perform pre-site activity checks to assure all materials and information are available to the project team, and help verify compliance to ACE's Project Management, Safety, and Quality Systems / Standards.

The Project Controls Specialist will also assist in updating project plans, communication plans, and other project controls documentation.

In addition, the Project Controls Specialist may assist in maintaining submittal logs, track requests for information and other customer interactions.

The Project Controls Specialist will also assist the project manager in assessing earned value (EV) and or populating EV data in the appropriate project management tools.

The Project Controls Specialist will be asked to work with PM's and engineers alike, to generate schedule templates for various type of projects including Hardware Design/build projects, Systems Integration efforts, System Upgrades, MES projects and Cyber projects.


Additionally, the Project Controls Specialist will, for assigned projects, be responsible to update and maintain project review documents, billing reports / invoices, plan customer activities, and make resources requests.

All the above and other activities will make up to the tasks and responsibilities of the Project Control Specialist.


Special Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/Office 36
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Very good communication skills with emphasis on the ability to listen and understand team members as it relates to elements of project performance and status
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels in the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to use good time management techniques
  • Ability to fully understand and perform specific tasks as defined by the Project Management Office, Director of Project Management, Project Managers and or the PMO Team Leaders
  • Willing to work offhours, when required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Willing and able to travel to another ACE sites, when required.

Requirements:


  • Education: Highschool or GED, Associate or Bachelor degreed preferred (especially in a technical discipline)
  • 3+ years of prior work experience in administrative/project support type role
