    Gerding Builders is offering a position of Estimator as we continue to align with the growing needs of our customers.

    The estimator role in our organization drives profitable business growth through accurate, complete, profitable and timely estimating. The successful candidate will bring a focus on being proficient, lifetime- learner, with exemplary communications skills. This position will provide the organization with a strategic approach to the estimating process.

    It is important to build and maintain key relationships with subcontractors and design partners which are critical to achieving the desired outcomes.

    The ideal candidate will look to grow and develop into a Sr. Estimator and be a long-term contributor for the company.

    Responsibilities

    Deliver timely and accurate takeoffs from construction drawings
    Capture, maintain and reference an accurate historical cost database
    Prepare thorough and complete estimates independent of client-imposed budgets
    Verbal and written communication and collaboration is imperative to evaluate bid documents and advise Project Managers on areas where drawings or specifications are incomplete and require clarifications and allowances
    Prioritize responsibilities in order to manage several projects simultaneously
    Develop subcontractor relationships and solicit sub-coverage
    Define scopes and assemble bid packages
    Evaluate bid documents and advise Project Managers on areas where drawings or specifications are incomplete and require clarifications and allowances
    Compile final cost estimate and compare with previous budgets or estimates while evaluating differences
    Qualifications

    2+ years experience estimating in the construction industry preferred
    Ability to work independently while collaborating with others
    Strong work ethic
    2 professional and 2 personal references
