The
Blend Tech Operator
in the Blend functional area reports directly to the Shift Superintendent and is responsible for the inventories of all latex and blending requirements in an effort to provide a consistent, continuous supply of quality latex.

In addition to blend responsibilities described above, this technician is to assist with coagulation processes, as problems/issues arise or required to maximize process uptime.

Job Functions:


  • Perform all tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner and complete all necessary housekeeping tasks to ensure work areas are kept in the best possible condition at all times.
  • An emergency response team member secures their area and then responds to fires, gas releases and spills.
  • Ensure the continuous supply of latex to the coagulation units according to the quality specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, and at the direction of the Shift Superintendent. This position must be able to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems as it relates to latex quality, transfer equipment, and/or inventory restrictions in an effort to maintain the continuous supply of latex to process and minimize downtime.
  • This position must work closely with outside coag operators and the process board supervisor to identify coag conditions and quality problems as they relate to latex. This position must also work closely with Poly personnel in realizing the type, quality, and current state of polymerization to ensure latex in inventory is according to specifications.
  • This position must be computer literate and be able to read, record and interpret information from the computer databases. Latex types and inventories are everchanging. This position must be able to ratio latex to meet process requirements and keep supervision updated by utilizing the blend log databases.
  • Ensure all storage and blend tanks are sampled, and all required testing is performed in accordance with procedures.
