JOB SUMMARY

The Compliance Analyst is responsible for performing program audits.

This includes auditing the program's implementation of policy and procedures, patient records for compliance with federal, state, and county requirements and accreditation standards pertaining to Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP).

As part of the auditing duties, the position is responsible for providing reports to their supervisor including the level of identified compliance/non-compliance items, and for supervising the clinic's effort and success of improving any non-compliant items.

This position entails traveling to clinics at a minimum of 4 days per week mostly in the Los Angeles County Area and occasionally San Diego, Bakersfield, and San Francisco.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative clinical compliance audits of patient records
  • Assist and coordinate efforts to implement protocols required to meet organization policies
  • Provide training and support to program staff on clinical documentation requirements and program policies
  • Assist with the maintenance and revision of clinical compliance policies and procedures
  • Assist with thirdparty audit requests.
  • Present training regarding federal, state, county laws and regulations and the organization's compliance policies and procedures
  • Implement/confirm the implementation of corrective action plans as necessary
  • Assist with identifying potential areas of compliance risk and then developing and implementing corrective action plans for the effective resolution of the identified compliance risks
  • Prepare various reports related to compliance items

Manages and maintains compliance with federal, state, and county rules, regulations, laws and standards for American Health Services OTP clinic operations.

  • Helps drive implementation of federal and state requirements, standards, processes and guidelines
  • Performs internal scheduled and unscheduled compliance audits
  • Provides audit results to Program Manager and the Chief Compliance Officer
  • Attends regulatory agency audits as requested

Counselor Training and Development


Create, develop and conduct compliance training for counselors to improve the quality of compliance with Federal, State, and County regulations and accreditation standards.


Administrative Responsibilities

  • Attends County SUD meetings
  • Participates in management reporting and attends staff meetings as requested
  • Participates in the Performance Improvement Process
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures
  • Adheres to a code of conduct conducive with American Health Services policy
  • Travels as required to meet the needs of the position

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 23 years of experience working in an OTP clinic as a manager, inhouse auditor, counselor
  • Counselor Certification
  • Experience with billing, (Los Angeles, SAGE experience helpful)
  • Understanding of OTP clinic operations
  • Understanding of HIPAA, Federal, State, County, and COA standards and regulations
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Excellent Organizational Skills

Computer Proficiency including Microsoft products:
word, excel, power point

  • Customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work well in a group setting and independently.
  • Selfdirected
  • Flexible and cooperative while fulfilling duties and obligations
  • Satisfactory references from employers
  • Satisfactory criminal background check

Salary _____________________________________

Negotiable depending upon degree of experience, knowledge, skill, ability, and qualifications.
