    Research:
    We will develop and support a rich array of outstanding health sciences research programs, centers, and resources. We will foster programs in the areas of basic, translational, mechanistic, and population research.

    Position Summary

    This position will serve as an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator within the UNC Cochlear Implant Clinical Research team.

    The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator assists with the execution of study protocols, including screening and recruiting study participants, conducting study visits, and collecting, entering, and reviewing study data.


    This person is responsible for preparing required submissions to initiate new research studies, maintain ongoing studies, and close completed studies.


    These activities include, but are not limited to:

    preparation and submission of IRB applications and modifications (e.g., new protocols, amendments, renewals, adverse events), preparation and submission of materials for the FDA (e.g., Investigator Device Exemption applications, annual reports), liaison for the Office of Sponsored Research (e.g., submission of new and revised contracts), review of invoices and associated billing (e.g., study billing), data entry, data monitoring, maintaining regulatory documents, assisting with study subject enrollment (e.g., screening potential candidates, obtaining relevant records), and assisting with data collection.

    This person also provides the Principal Investigator with study updates and reminders and will attend research team meetings to provide study updates.

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

    Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

    Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work and communicate with diverse populations effectively and professionally. Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team.

    Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

    Applicants are required to have previous experience as a research coordinator for clinical research studies. Candidates must also demonstrate excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

    It is preferred that candidates are bilingual (Spanish, English).
