Pay rates for Union positions are set in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Each position has a total of six steps, Step 1 (entry level) through Step 6 (15 years of employment with the organization). Union staff are promoted from Step 1 to Step 2 upon their one-year anniversary. The current Step 1 rate for this position is $27.27/hr, and the current Step 6 rate for this position is $30.11/hr.

  • 6% additional pay for overnight (NOC) shift from 11 pm to 7 am
  • 4.5% additional pay for evening shift from 5:30 pm to 10:59 pm
  • 4.5% additional pay for weekend shifts from 12:01 am on Saturday thru 11:59pm on Sunday

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Enter information into the daily log, including descriptions of any incidents, altercations,
mother-child interactions, or medication discrepancies.

  • Oversee the daytoday activities of clients and their children, including regular rounds, chores
completed at scheduled times, attending scheduled groups, and ensuring proper supervision and safety of all clients and children.

  • Monitor and assist mothers' positive parenting activities, providing crisis intervention as needed.
  • Provide client access to their medications and ensuring correct dose and medication are being provided. Inventory client medication per shift.
  • Regularly scheduled and emergency transportation for clients, including appointments, grocery shopping, WIC, and others as needed.
  • Track daily census of clients.
  • Conduct scheduled and random urine and oral drug testing.
  • Set up bedrooms for potential clients, including bedding and welcome baskets. Clean bedrooms of outgoing clients and submit maintenance requests as needed.
  • Communicate thorough shift exchange with incoming staff, including client updates and pending todos for the shift.
  • Conduct facility, room, and client searches as needed, including all incoming packages and personal items brought for clients.
  • Conduct endofmonth report, including inventories of food, medicine, and supplies, fire and safety checks, and any maintenance requests as needed.
  • Participate in trainings and achieve certifications as required by federal, state, and county licensing requirements.
  • Conduct client checks and take vitals per the organization's Withdrawal Management Policy.
  • Provide childcare coverage as needed.
  • Provide coverage for admission and discharge paperwork as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED. (E)
  • A valid California Driver License, with access to a reliable vehicle/for driving a company vehicle, current proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record. (E)
  • Working knowledge of common computer software programs including MS Office, Excel. (E)
  • Filing skills (alpha, numeric, date). (E)
  • Some experience working in a multicultural setting with women and children affected by the disease of addiction and having possible mental health diagnoses. (D)
  • Sensitivity to female privacy interests and prior domestic abuse. (E)
  • Experience of social model methodology and 12Step recovery principles. (D)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish). (D)
  • Strong personal boundaries matched with compassion. (E)
  • Experience role modeling recovery concepts, healthy life skills, and positive parenting skills to maintain a positive environment for recovery. (D)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly required to sit, stand and walk up and down a small hill. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds (strollers, supplies, small children).


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Primary work is performed in a residential setting with short periods of time at an office desk. Will be exposed to clients in various states of undress.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:

Local travel to training, client appointments, and other as needed errands may be required.
