AEssential Job Functions & Responsibilities:Perform ingress/egress analyses and code compliance evaluations (Building Code, Life Safety Code, ADA) related to allegations from accidents on commercial and residential properties.

Determine the cause, origin, and extent of alleged slip-and-fall and trip-and-fall incidentsConduct field investigations and consultation related to potentially defective construction and/or design of structural components, roof systems, and building envelope/fenestration componentsConduct unbiased investigations for various types of clientsResponsible for retention and development of client relationsPrepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediationDeliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groupsAbility to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedingsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Architecture or similar requiredWorking knowledge of ADA, Life Safety Code, and/or International Building Codes compliance standards and guidelinesMinimum of five (5) years of post-academic work experienceLicensed AIA (Architect) required or P.

(Professional Engineer) if applicableMust possess strong writing skillsPublic speaking experience a plusExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsPhysical Requirements:
Ability to travel 25% of the time (mostly driving distance)

Ability to lift 50 lbsAbility to climb ladders and inspect roofsAbility to maneuver in and around buildings and in confined spacesAbility to drive to site locations and fly on airplanesAbility to effectively communicate with clients and colleaguesAbility to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work siteBenefits:
