The Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center is seeking a Banquet Set Up Supervisor.

This position is responsible for supervising team members and setting, maintaining, and refreshing hotel and convention center banquet and meeting rooms according to event specifications.


Position Duties:


  • Train new hires in set up duties and responsibilities.
  • Assist with weekly scheduling of team members.
  • Fulfill the role of room manager during events.
  • Set up banquet and meeting rooms according to event specifications per the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
  • Ensure that all banquet and meeting rooms are properly set in a timely manner to allow banquet service staff to prepare for events.
  • Set up audiovisual equipment and ensure its readiness for operation.
  • Timely breakdown of meeting rooms after event conclusion.
  • Properly store unused equipment, safely and in an organized manner.
  • Spot clean carpet stains between event setups.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Convention Center patio and all main entries. Daily pickup of garbage and cigarette butts.
  • Refresh scheduled functions.
  • Respond to guest requests for service and/or changes in room setup.
  • Ensure the proper usage and good working order of all equipment, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Be sure all entry doors of the convention center and meeting rooms are open and ready for client arrival at the start of each event.
  • Responsible for locking all convention center entry doors and the employee entry at the end of closing shifts.

Qualifications:


  • Ability to effectively supervise, train, and coach team members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, team members, and guests.
  • Professional, clean appearance with pressed attire.
  • A positive attitude and the willingness to anticipate our guests' needs; accommodate guests' requests effectively and politely.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
