Joining the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team as a Registered Nurse (RN), you can anticipate working 3 12-hour night shifts per week in a dynamic unit, alongside team members whose primary focus is the well-being of patients. Our cardiac services concentrate on what's crucial for heart health. As a part of a patient-centric Progressive Care team, you'll have the opportunity to not only care for individuals in your community but also individuals across the entire state of Wyoming, aiding in heart recovery to resume daily activities.

As the largest inpatient facility in the state, Wyoming Medical Center is renowned for its exceptional cardiac and stroke services. With 249 beds and a level 2 trauma center, Wyoming Medical Center is honored to cater to the entire state of Wyoming.POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients in alignment with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The position carries responsibility for the quality of nursing services provided by themselves or others under their supervision. Specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills are essential to assess data, plan, provide, and evaluate care suitable to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Assesses patient needs comprehensively
- Develops a comprehensive care plan
- Executing the care plan efficiently
- Evaluates patient response to care and revises the plan accordingly
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Engages in best practices and may partake in research endeavors within clinical practice
- Contributes to activities enhancing patient outcomes and quality of care
- Possibly supervises department staff and workflow
Interacts with various stakeholders across departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts, maintaining a collaborative approach to patient care and support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- BLS certification required
- Ongoing education and certifications may be necessary based on practice area
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Professional certification preferred
- Additional related education/experience is a plus
