Sunset Hills is excited to extend our warmest greetings from Ampstek We are currently seeking a PostgreSQL DBA to join our team in Germany.

This is a contract position that offers both remote and hybrid work options. As a PostgreSQL DBA, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our database systems.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of database design principles
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL 8.3, 8.4, and 9.0
  • Good understanding of query execution plans
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting, including stored procedures and PSQL scripting
  • Strong performance tuning skills
  • Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve live database system issues
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practices, including planning, testing, and backup/restore
  • Experience with replication is a plus
  • Handson experience with database administration, backup recovery, and troubleshooting in colocation environments
  • Expertise in Oracle Backup & Recovery
  • Experience with database cloning or refresh
  • Ability to analyze requirements from developers and architects for data loads/migrations and build PL/SQL procedures
  • Mentorship skills to guide team members on DBA tasks and new technologies
  • Experience managing the database portion of application releases
  • Knowledge of incident and change management processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
