Compensation
:
$25.00 per hour. Paid Holidays. 401k with 100%/50% match


This position requires a very reliable, self-sufficient and motivated person with an unusually strong ability to follow processes, communicate with customers and keep the facility neat and organized.

TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Operations Manager-East works daily by Skype and phone with the General Director, Operations Manager - Central and Operations Manager - West to process inbound and outbound shipments.

The Operations Manager-East is responsible for the Eastern DC's environment and physical plant to ensure it is an efficient and safe place to work.


Shipping:

The Operations Manager-East will work with another Operations Manager and will be directly responsible for daily order packing, shipping and receiving.

Package volume will range from packages per day.

Shipping involves 6-8 daily cycles of picking and packing of products for shipment by FedEx, UPS, and occasional use of a forklift to load pallet shipments onto common carrier trucks.

Most shipments are FedEx Ground with average weight of 40 lbs and a 10-60 lb range. We adhere to a 60 lb max package rule.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining adequate supplies of packing materials to perform daily operations.

Receiving:
The Operations Manager-East will be directly responsible for safely and efficiently receiving inbound pallets via common carriers. Unloading pallets from trailers using a forklift will be a daily occurrence. Once received, the shipment must be scanned and stocked on the shelves. Products with faulty labels or missing bar codes must be corrected upon delivery before stocking to the shelves. Products missing from a shipment must be reported and inventory adjusted.

Inventory:

A very critical job responsibility is maintaining accurate inventory with the use of a laptop and bar code system.

Identifying errors on inbound shipments, re-labeling products with faulty or missing bar code labels, and cycle-counting existing inventory will be regular tasks.

Keeping products orderly and neat is essential so if you are known for being extremely neat and anal about your workplace conditions, this job is for you.

Maintain proper layout of warehouse and product placement, and organization of the warehouse.

Safety:

The Operations Manager-East ensures safety by following all safety policies and procedures, monitors DC for safety hazards, and follows physical security and operational metrics on a daily basis.

Recommends alternatives for work methods and procedures to achieve accurate and timely movement and processing of product; ensure the warehouse is always kept clean and layout is optimal for maximum efficiency and safety.


Supervisory:
There is currently no supervisory responsibility involved with this position.

Customer Interaction:

The Ops Manager will handle a small number of local sales transactions when customers pick up product at warehouse.

There will be occasional phone calls to update customers of their shipment status and occasional entry of orders on the website.

QUALIFICATIONS
College credits are not required but are a definite plus. We use internet programs and Microsoft Excel every day so familiarity will be important.
Travel is only reserved for emergency.

Since inception of the position no travel has been required but voluntary travel opportunities do exist for the individual to learn and grow with the company.

Work starts at 8:30 AM weekdays and ends at 5:00 pm. A prompt start is expected every day.
Prior forklift experience is a plus but not required. Training and certification is provided.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
No felony convictions
Must pass a Drug Test
Must be able to pass a Background Check
