    The Goddard School of Stony Brook, NY is seeking a UPK PreK Teacher to join our fun working environment to care for and teach our 4-year-old children. NYS Ratios are maintained in the classrooms. This is a full-time position working approximately 8 am until 3 pm Monday through Friday.

    We are looking for a full-time UPK Teacher who will be responsible for leading our 4-year-old classroom; implementing The Pre-K curriculum for all Interdisciplinary Units of Study, with weekly lesson plans that meet the children's individual needs.
    • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
    • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, which provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
    • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to children and parents.
    • Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
    • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs.
    • Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students
    • Arrange indoor and outdoor space, to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety.
    • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
    • Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
    • Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.

    Requirements:
    • Bachelors or masters degree in early childhood education
    • NY State Teaching Certificate Birth 2nd
    • New Teachers welcome
    • Experience in a 4-year-old classroom preferred.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $20-25 per Hr.

    Expected hours: 35 per week

    Work Location: In person
