Posting Summary

  • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Administrative Coordinator (International Data and SEVIS Coordinator) for the department of Rutgers Global. The International Student Data Coordinator (ISDC) position reports to the Associate Director for Student Advising and Support at ISSS. The ISDC plays a pivotal role in managing data pertaining to international students and their dependents. This involves overseeing the daily operations of the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), ensuring compliance with SEVP regulations, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of data across various systems, including Sunapsis, SEVIS, and institutional databases. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, an understanding of SEVP regulations, comfort with database management and data driven work (including interpreting data, preparing reports, etc.), and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic and diverse team environment.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Manages data for international students and their dependents, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and seamless data flow between systems.
  • Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for Rutgers University F1 and J1 programs.
  • Conducts ongoing tracking and reporting tasks required by SEVIS.
  • Assists with implementation and maintenance of Sunapsis updates, including creation of new processes and eforms.
  • Collaborates with administrative offices, such as Admissions, Office of Information Technology, Rutgers Global IT, and Registrar's offices, to ensure SEVIS compliance and data integrity.
  • Stays informed about laws, regulations, and policies related to SEVP compliance, and recommend policies and procedures associated with reporting requirements.
  • Provides support to International Student Advisors for various processes, including academic status changes and practical training.
  • Offers firstlevel advisement on programs and services available to students; refer them to specialized advising and support sources.
  • Gathers and interprets data and generate comprehensive reports.
  • Participates as a full member of the ISSS professional team in developing, administering and evaluating the office's overall operation and programming.
  • Provides administrative support for office organization and programs, including special projects like orientation and procedure development.
  • Collaborates crossfunctionally with other Rutgers Global offices and campus units.
  • Performs other duties as required.

    Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, and two years of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and skill in data management, critical thinking and attention to detail, as well as strong organizational and time management skills; good communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with multicultural clients, facilitate group presentations, and to navigate various organizational levels.
