    Description

    Role Summary:

    As Financial Analyst, you will be a key, supportive member of the Free People Brand Finance and Accounting team. The role reports to the Finance Manager. This position will work closely with key brand business partners and various corporate accounting team members. Key responsibilities include supporting the execution of the monthly financial close process, monthly and quarterly cross channel financial reporting, and ongoing support of ad hoc project requests.

    Role Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for supporting the financial close process for all business channels
    • Support preparation of monthly P&Ls and balance sheet reconciliations
    • Complete monthly financial close reporting, variance analysis and update management review presentations
    • Prepare and ensure integrity of reporting for use and distribution among brand partners and leadership team
    • Ensure integrity of financial statements with accurate preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications
    • Provide brand AP support through account coding guidance and invoice payment tracking updates
    • Partner with internal and external audit teams
    • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley financial reporting requirements (including maintenance of policies and procedures)
    • Support annual budget process through review of key metrics and system uploads
    • Perform ad hoc and decision-support analysis as requested by management
    • Develop ways to continually improve processes to ensure timely and accurate completion & communication of information

    Role Qualifications:
    • 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in finance or accounting, with a strong knowledge of financial/accounting principles
    • Retail or apparel industry experience preferred
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Working knowledge of financial systems, specially Hyperion, Oracle & MicroStrategy preferred
    • Strong sense of accountability, ownership and proactive problem-solving
    • Excellent organization, time management and communication skills
    • Team player with a positive attitude
    • Demonstrated project management skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate, influence and engage various levels of the organization
