Gettysburg College seeks a dynamic, innovative professional to serve in this 12-month, full-time position as Assistant Director, Student Employment in the Center for Career Engagement.

This position reports to the Director of Experiential Programs.

  • The primary role of the Assistant Director is to provide management and oversight in the College's student hiring processes and transactions for on campus positions, including a fundamental understanding of relevant federal employment law as well as policies and regulations related to required paperwork and records.

The Assistant Director will:

  • Provide training, information, and communication for oncampus supervisors and student employees.
  • Enter student employment documents and data; create and maintain database files in PeopleSoft HR Admin, Excel, Handshake, and DocuSign.
  • Partner with relevant campus stakeholders regarding Student Employment policies, procedures, and planning.
  • Supervise and train student employees staffing the Career Engagement reception desk.
  • Assist the Executive Director in developing reports, programs, presentations, and other administrative/supervisory duties as assigned.
  • Connect with a broad array of students, parents, alumni, administrators, and faculty partners.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Career Counseling, Counseling, Higher Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
Three years experience in higher education, human resources, and/or career counseling as well as a clear understanding of a liberal arts education are preferred. Experience managing and providing transactional and compliance services is a plus. A demonstrated commitment to providing leadership in building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community is required.

_Strong written and oral communication skills; organizational skills and attention to detail; assessing needs for new programs and approaches and to develop programming accordingly; to work with a great deal of variety; to be flexible with daily tasks.

The Assistant Director is a 12-month, full-time administrative appointment. Salary is commensurate with experience and is complemented by an excellent benefits package.
