St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Katy is looking to hire a Part-Time Communications Assistant.


The Communication Assistant will work closely with the Communication Coordinator in broadcasting the church's message and missions to the community.

This position requires a combination of excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.


This position is Sunday - Thursday (flexible) working approximately 15 hours a week and will report directly to the Communication Coordinator.


As the Communications Assistant you can expect to:

  • Communicate primarily with the Communications Coordinator, pastors, and ministry staff, to develop & maintain the St. Peter's brand across all areas of ministry and all platforms.
  • Create all sermon graphics & video bumpers
  • Create all videos for internal & external communication
  • Assist Communications Coordinator to design weekly bulletins for four different venues
  • Develop weekly video announcements
  • Update & maintain website design
  • Update & maintain all signage
  • Manage social media content for one of the campus accounts

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, or Public Relations preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Knowledge of Adobe Design suite + video editing
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
  • Adequate knowledge of web design and web development
  • Decisionmaking and problemsolving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and through various forms of written material.
  • Good multitasking and organizational ability.
  • Ability to maintain a Christlike attitude towards other staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders
