Role Summary
As a
Test Technician based in Portage, Michigan, you will be integral in conducting and organizing laboratory testing activities to ensure the quality and reliability of our products.
Working closely with test engineers, you will play a crucial role in executing test protocols and procedures, maintaining equipment, and communicating results effectively.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, organize, and execute test activities in the laboratories according to specified protocols, drawings, diagrams, and engineering documents provided by test engineers.
- Prepare the working area for tests, set up testing equipment, and ensure adherence to defined procedures.
- Set up test fixtures as required, including fabrication if necessary, and establish tracking methodology for sample identification.
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on assigned laboratory equipment within technical capability.
- Maintain test records, prepare relevant documentation and reports on activities, and ensure information is uptodate.
- Communicate test status and results to responsible test engineers and other engineering group members effectively.
- Maintain testing equipment, organize, and store test fixtures to ensure cleanliness and security of the working area.
- Utilize hand tools, wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc., and be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and moving objects up to 100 lbs.
Your Profile
Education:
- HS Diploma or GED preferred. College or vocational school coursework is welcome.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of test methods, techniques, setup, tools, equipment, materials, and products, with the ability to analyze and evaluate test results.
- Ability to work in teams with good communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Completion of New Employee Orientation and Quality Systems Overview training, as well as any additional departmentspecific training identified.
- Proficiency in working with basic tools.
- Experience in repairing or maintaining cars, trucks, motorcycles is highly desired.
