Join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital main campus in Boston and be a part of our dynamic environment in Anatomic Pathology Reporting to the Director of Operations and the Medical Director of Frozen Section, the Pathologists' Assistant (Supervisor) oversees the daily operations in the OR Frozen Section Room.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leadership:_
• Direct supervision of Frozen Section Room staff, ensuring topnotch service delivery.
• Participate in hiring decisions for PA/Frozen Section technician roles.
• Conduct competency assessments and contribute to performance appraisals.
• Coordinate equipment, supply, and personnel needs in realtime.
• Act as a liaison for residents and pathologists, facilitating clear communication in the frozen section room.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain lab quality, efficiency, and safety.
• Provide immediate response to safety concerns and incidents in the Frozen Section room.
• Develop and implement training programs for residents and technical staff.
• Provide coverage for Technical Director when required.
• Tissue Banking:_
• Provide oversight and coverage for research tissue procurement.
• Ensure proper allocation/banking of tissue per established standards.
• Maintain accurate records in Tissue Bank Database and coordinate tissue pickup for research protocols.
• Quality Assurance:_
• Oversee equipment functionality and resolve equipment failures.
• Provide surgical specimen quality assurance.
• Develop and implement quality assurance programs.
• General Pathologists'

Assistant Duties:
_

• Perform gross description and dissection of surgical pathology specimens.
• Troubleshoot problems that arise with specimens.
• Provide coverage for rotating Frozen Section Room Pathologists' Assistant.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree from NAACLS accredited and AAPA approved Pathologists' Assistant Training Program.
• PA(ASCP) certification required.
• Five years of experience as a Pathologists' Assistant.
• Desire to lead other Pathologists' Assistants.

Location and Schedule:

• Located at Brigham and Women's Hospital main campus in Boston.
• Monday to Friday schedule with no oncall or weekend requirements.

Pay:
$ $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
