    Description

    A healthcare employer in Houston, TX is seeking a Charge Entry Specialist to support their team as they transition to a new EMR system.

    This person will be responsible for the input of patient demographics (patient registration) which will include inputting the patients insurance and verify that it is active.

    He/she will also input the charges, diagnosis and codes from the DA2 report into the system so that the claims can be sent out.

    This position is a 7 month contract to help support the additional work load as the hospital system transitions to the new EMR system.

    The role is a hybrid position and will be onsite 1 day a week.

    Required Skills & Experience

    5 years of healthcare related data entry

    PB billing experience

    Experience working in EPIC

    Familiar with the different insurance payor portals

    Experience verify patient insurance


    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.

    Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
